Scholarships
Toms River Rotary Charitable Foundation Scholarships
Since 1990, our Foundation has awarded more than $200,000 in academic scholarships to deserving local high school seniors wishing to pursue a college education, and who may be our leaders of the future.
We award multiple scholarships from $2,000 - $3,000 each, based on applicant qualifications and funding availability, including the following scholarships in honor of notable individuals:
- The Kieser Award
- The Art Mitchell Award
- The Alexander Glendenning Award
- The Edward Hughmanic Award
- The Gale Wayman Scholarship
Applying for a Scholarship
Toms River Rotary Scholarship Applications are available at the following school guidance departments in January:
- Toms River High School East
- Toms River High School South
- Toms River High School North
- Donovan Catholic
- Central Regional
- Ocean County Vo-Tech
Selection criteria is based upon a combination of the following:
- Academic achievement
- Extra-curricular activities
- Financial need
Your guidance counsellor will be asked to submit the following to our scholarship committee:
- Completed application signed by at least one parent or guardian
- Certified copy of students transcript
- Letter(s) of recommendation
Deadline for a completed application packet is mid- April

Scholarship election Committee decisions are made in May and the recipient's School Guidance Department will be notified of the award in writing shortly thereafter.
Award of Scholarships are made in early June at a Wednesday Rotary Meeting, better known as our “Scholarship Night”.
