Feed The Hungry
Feed the Hungry

The Rotary Club of Toms River’s Feed the Hungry program was initiated several years ago addressing the underlying need of many families, single parent households, and seniors suffering from the inability to put food on the table.

Our local food pantry’s and non-profit organizations were directly impacted in 2018 by the closure of Ocean Hunger Relief, therefore our program became ever more important.

Through club donations, food donations, grants, and individual support, we chose to make a difference in two areas.

Financial Support/Donation of Food – a direct monetary contribution to an organization to purchase items most needed by their clients and/or food contributed by club members.

Receiving financial support and food donations are, and have been:
  • The Hope Center
  • Island Heights United Methodist Church Food Pantry
  • St. Joseph’s Food Pantry
  • The Salvation Army Food Pantry
  • Your Grandmothers Cupboard Food Pantry
  • St. Paul’s Food Pantry
  • The People’s Pantry
  • Church of Grace and Peace Food Pantry
  • Simon’s Soup Kitchen
Emergency Support – fulfilling an emergency need for food, and often times items for children and babies. This on a request basis identifying the immediate need.
  • Providence House Women and Children’s Center
  • A Need We Feed
  • The People’s Pantry
We wish to thank our club members and the WAWA Foundation for understanding the need and continuing their support of this program.
